Just for the record, there is some doubt about the efficacy and safety of Chiropracting. Indeed, there has been a very controversial legal case about freedom of speech here with Dr. Simon Singh - a well known science writer - doubting the efficacy of chiropracting embroiled in a defamation case with the BCA. Simon has just won his case with the Judge stating that his views were justified as a statement of scientific fact. Osteopathy is a recognised treatment with practitioners licensed by the State (there was sufficient research evidence to suggest that this treatment warranted such support and it was thus regulated appropriately and receives NHS funding) but the same - at this time - cannot be said for Chiropracting I'm afraid. I have no doubt that many people will have got great benefit from seeing a Chiropractor but there are some concerns about efficacy and safety that should be noted. A safer (and arguably more efficacious) option is to see an Osteopath (or Physio) but once again people have a free choice here and, assuming they are adults, are perfectly entitled to exercise that choice anyway they wish in my view.
