Happy 2008 all. My big resolution is to refresh my driving skills and confidence on the road after a 7 year absence and i feel i need an instructor rather than hire a car and have my partner in the passenger seat :-). Not good for either of our tempers i feel-not just yet anyway.
Does anyone know of a good, friendly local driving instructor who's super-competent and interested in helping improve someone's skills rather than just pass their test (i passed my test in 1994 and drove daily for about 7 years).

Eco fans note: this is in order to help share the driving when we go on hols to rural parts or do removals for friends and family, not to add yet more daily congestion and pollution to London's streets. We don't have a car and don't intend to get one here.

Many thanks

I think you should get a citycar on a Sunday morning and drive around, you'll be suprised how quickly you'll be feeling comfortable again.

The city is completely empty on a Sunday, so head in that direction.
