Hello - On Sunday I'm running the London Marathon for the Downside Fisher Youth Club in Bermondsey SE1. They do amazing work for young people in the area and it would be hugely appreciated by the team and the local kids if you could stick your hand in your pocket for a great local charity!
I was hoping to run 3:15 but shin splits had me out for a month. Hopefully vocal South London support will spur me on to under 3:30. Come out and cheer regardless - it's what makes the London Marathon the world's greatest! Cheers, Shane
Thanks to everybody who came out to see me on the day. Absolutley fantastic atmosphere. Also, many thanks to everyone who has sponsored to date via through http://www.justgiving.com/shaneclarke. You can stil donate to the fantsic Downside Fisher Youth Club for another month or so. Finsihed in 4:12 but after a 1:45 first half I siezed up and could only manage 2:30 for the second half.
For those who haven't done a marathon two bits of advice (1) Do it! It's fantastic! (2) Train, train and train some more - I can hardly walk to day!
