I came across the new Bermondsey Spa web site today (launched in January). For those who live in the area and are keen to know what's going on, it's well worth a look. In particular, the latest version of the newsletter highlights achievements so far and details some of the recent developments:

Exciting stuff!

Does anyone know what the restaurant will be? Or the restaurant in the Bermondsey Square development?

Try calling these guys:

Let us know what you find out.

I heard that Conran is taking the restaurant site on the square

Great news. Whilst it is very important that there continue to be affordable eateries in the area, it would be nice to have somewhere upmarket/smart in Bermondsey Sq. for special occasions!

He has sold it, ages ago. I think he still has a stake in it but it is run by D&D London.

He sold 49% a while ago, he is now reported to be looking to sell his remaining controlling interest.

I've looked at the plans for development on Spa road, which includes that row of manky looking shops on Spa Road, next to the Queens Arms pub. It shows the pub as still being there in the future. Does anyone know anything about this pub? I've never seen anyone going in, it looks like it's from a bygone age.
