I well remember the first viewing of the Wansey Street flats, and as Jan says, the prospective tenants were appalled at the mean proportions, the "open plan" kitchens, (when someone asked the snooty architect where they were meant to put the kitchen table he,said that no one sits round the table any more) and so it went on. Same when I went to see the "new and improved" flats they were going to offer us for our flats on the Aylesbury estate. You couldn't swing a bloody CAT in them.

Yes, somewhere and somehow though this regeneration brings many benefits to local people. Free Council magnifying glasses available from Peter John or Fiona Colley c/o Tooley St, SE1.
