what is a premises variation?

The notice i was referring to is in the window and says there is going to be a change in the layout of the premises from the original plan-if they are getting a licence and doing some internal changes i wonder if they have someone lined up to take it over?

Does anyone have any idea when The Simon (the tanner) pub is due to open on Long Lane? It has been undergiong renovation for quite some tme now, and still seems no closer to actually opening.

There was a poster up in the window this morning, which I think said that something was opening up in the pub space there "soon". There was an email address on the poster which I think had "queensheadlondon" in it, which looks to be a link to a website for a pretty decent looking pub in King's X. Fingers crossed for Simon the Tanner...

Sounds promising

Can someone explain what a lock up pub is please?

It means whatever property is above the pub is not part of the business. Presumably the other areas are being developed as flats and therefore whoever has the pub has only that bit of the building.

The wall on the right as you (I) peer through the window is new. Behind it is the new access to the floors above. It's shrunk the pub quite a lot but worth it if it saves the building. Hope the pub works this time.

Simon the Tanner seems to be blighted..I've never understood why.

Very strange indeed, as it is really a nice pub and perfectly located. Fond memories of the SE1 Forum Socials in the early days!
