Are they for your sailing books?

Aren't these things really weak? Can they really hold a bunch of books?

tp. that's like the ikea ones, they may be cheaper or Argos?

they can be quite strong, especialy if you use realy good wall plugs, or those wall screws with the spring fly nut on the reverse. My brother has several, and he's got loads of really heavy books on them.

IMO it's not worth the time or effort making your own, just get IKEA ones - unless it's a case of saving money, or getting ones to fit a specific size gap.

either way, they will look good.

Wow, the ones on that website are as dear as fire is hot. 30 per metre to have them painted...

Crikey. I'd definitely go for the IKEA ones myself:

For goodness' sake, Jessica. They're a tenth the price; they cannot be any good at all.

Agree with this I'm afraid. Take it from me, if you need to support ANY sort of weight (other than a vase or a couple of Lladro figurines), then you will need to drill deep into the wall or support at shelves at either end/s (depending on length of shelf). Habitat have their 'Influence' range which could be an option? Whilst not technically 'floating', once you have books on they do appear to float.
OR
Another option GOOD LUCK!

If I was lucky enough to have Lladro figurines, I'd never trust them to Ikea, or even the sainted Habitat.

Don't Waitrose do shelves?

Better still, why not turn your flat into an anti-gravity environment with floating EVERYTHING

...if you press it, they will come.
