Hi Andyboy!

Fascinating to read your memories of SCH. I worked in D.Amm.P, starting in Gen(B), from Dec 61 to sometime in 1963. My first office (2nd floor, of course) overlooked Sumner Street.

There's a small - but select :) - group of former SCH inmates who belong to a facebook discussion group I set up, 'Memories of St Christopher House' - where you'd be most welcome !

Find us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/239148686526617/

Hope to hear from you.

Bringing this back up again:

Another mention for the Memories of St Christopher House facebook page - anyone with memories (good, bad, indifferent) of that unashamedly unattractive office block is welcome to come and join us and share your memories!

I was interested to read Andy's reminisces of St Christopher House as I am writing a career history of my Dad David Brighton (now 93) who worked there from April 1964 to October 1972, also in the Directorate of Ammunition Production. An extract from his CV: Leading a team of production officers engaged in the procurement of fuzes, small arms ammunition, power cartridges, pyrotechnic stores and cartridge cases from civilian contractors and ROFs. Also procurement from overseas suppliers.
Previous to that he worked at Woolwich Arsenal and returned there until his retirement in 1986.
I'll use those memories to see what my Dad can recall.
