Hello, Just found this website. My Great Grand parents , John and Louisa Donovan are shown living in 5 and 6 Boddy's Bridge in the 1911 census.

I notice that your family where there sometime around this period as well. Some of the family also show up in No 8 Body's Bridge in the 1939 census.

My great grandparents, John and Louisa Donovan as shown in 5/6 Body Bridge in the 1911 census, and then some of the family are shown in 8 Body Bridge in the 1939 census.

My great grandfather George Shinn lived at 5 Boddys Bridge when he married on 25 th December 1904. I believe he was a Covent Garden porter but he also ran illegal betting so it could have been him that someone above saw. His money was apparently hidden under the floorboards. He was one of the first people to own a car in that area and they also bought a bungalow in Canvey island . He moved into Jane Street on marriage to Polly Ackerman . Jane street also doesn’t exist anymore.
