I'm trying to find out why and when my great grandparents Charles & Rose Hannah Woodcock were evacuated from Southwark to Cornwall in ww2. The sad thing is that they both died there in 1941/2 away from all their family and friends. They were in their 70s.

Oh how sad Lynne,

Could you not phone the War Museum and ask to speak to one of the learned people there who could advise you about evacuation?

Perhaps your great grandparents were frail, or been bombed out and had no where to stay?
