There is a games shop in Greenwich market called Compendium - it's not SE1 but it's the place I usually go to buy games. I probably go to Greenwhich about once a month, and I always go in. It's the first place I've seen that actually has Carom boards for sale. it's where I got my Go set from.
... and it's only a short bus ride away.

Cheers Roadrunner - if ebay doesn't provide (and it normally does!) then I'll pop down there...

Roadrunner - I thought my mum was the only person in the world with a Carom board. I often wondered where she got it from!

We've got a carom board. (And it came from a nice Indian man somewhere near Green Lanes, and must have been pretty cheap because when I saw the prices in Compendium - which I go to to buy playing cards - I gasped).

...if you press it, they will come.
