I went to the PO at London Bridge today for a lottery ticket, and on the shelves they have woks,
coffee makers and other bizarre items for sale.
I must admit I would never have thought of going to the PO for a wok. I assume they're aimed at
impulse buyers.

Depending on the size of the PO, some of them are franchised out...maybe someone's taken the initiative to offer homewares to a generally captive queuing audience?

Rather than being connected to anything relevant, I think they've just got a load of old tat that they reckon will be more profitable to sell than food. There's also a thing to wear to stop you snoring.

...if you press it, they will come.
