Hi there. I'm living near Tower Bridge and love SE1! Am good friends with a neighbour of mine and it's great being able to meet up with people just around the corner so would love to meet and get to know more of my neighbours.
Lovely to have all these new people joining, do make sure to come to some of the social events (see Socials) and so we can put faces to the names. We're a fairly nice crowd if I do say so myself as shouldnt. There's a competition between me and Jan the Old one who is the most ancient member of the gang, I think it's me. However, you young and beautiful things will enjoy our get togethers.
Hallo everyone!
I've just moved into Empire Square (yes, the terrible, badly named development by the awful developer, as I understand - most of the forum is dedicated to discussions complaining about BH and their homes!!!).
I love this area, worked here for ages and finally moved home here too. Where to begin to enjoy it!!!
So, how do I go about making new friends?
Any forthcoming socials? Any of you go to Top Notch Gym? I do and love it, but not easy making friends whilst on a threadmill....
Hope to hear from you all. And have a great week, too.
Marco
Marco, hi and welcome and hope we meet soon....come to a book club or a lunch club or something. We usually have a summer social on my roof. Havent decided on a date yet, and the weather has been SO grim I've rather lost my impetus. But it will happen. Anyone for early September?
I am returning to the area in August after 5 years away.
Thing is, I need a flat to rent. Can anyone recommend a lettings agent that deals with ex-local authority lettings? I need a 2 bed place for ~£260 p/week. Any advice appreciated.
Most lettings agents deal with ex-local authority buildings. I'd start with findaproperty.com and primelocation.com. You can also submit a request which will be sent to all lettings agents in the area via the ARLA web site (search google for ARLA).
Regarding Lambeth Towers, I have lived there for 4 years. The flats are good, its a great location and views are great. Of course its not perfect and Lammbeth Council are poor, but overall I have no regrets.
