Welcome to the best local community forum in south east central London :)

have a look around, make yourselves at home, sit back and enjoy the view. Post a little, or a lot. Go to a social event or two, and enjoy SE1.

Hi, I'm not at all local sadly, but wondering if anyone can shed any light on the Nash family who lived at 1 Collinson St? Father (James), mother (Lily). My mother (Alice) became estranged from her family aged 6 (in 1933). I believe there were 9 in her family. She is still alive, but has recently become very ill. Thanks.

Hi, I've often been linked to the SE1 forum after googling local streets or businesses and found it a font of knowledge. I joined today because I'm being nosey about some planes.

I've lived and worked in SE1 for four years now. I wanted to live and work here as it's where my family are from and it's lovely to walk the streets where they lived.

Anyway, hello

Hi,I have just joined London SE1,I was born in Lambeth Walk in 1934,I now live in New Zealand,I am doing my family genealogy and both sides of my family lived and worked in Bermondsey in the 1800`s and early 1900`s,the other side, the Western`s lived in Blue Anchour Lane, they were Mineral Water manufacturers. I never lived in Bermondsey,I always lived in Lambeth. There was at that time a large family of Mitchells which was my grandmothers maiden name, they were all tanners,I wonder if there are any still living there?
