Hi James,

is there any way to actually prevent people posting over-wide pictures and links, making the text unreadable without zooming from side to side? Or do we have to rely on peoples' good sense and them reading guidelines?

The latter, I'm afraid.

If I spot them I try to edit them.

Feel free to use the 'Send alert to moderators' function to let me know about offending threads.

I do plan to redesign the posting form at some stage to include various tips and guidelines.

BTW, what is your recommended max. width in pixels? I have recently acquired a digital camera and found a picture hosting site, so hopefully will put a few pictures up.

I'd say 450 pixels. This ensures that the pages don't get stretched for those viewing the site at 800x600 resolution.

(Though I have a 1024x768 screen I have my browser window set to 800 pixels so I can see other windows at the same time)

For anything bigger than 450 pixels across, just provide a link to the image, rather than including the picture itself in your message.
