Rota has now been sent by email so please let me know if you dont get it.
We have 8 new members for this round so it may be nice if as many of us as possible get together for a drink beforehand. So I suggest:
The Britannia, Kipling Street Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th October 7.30pm. Let me know if this suits or suggest alternative dates if not. Looking forward to seeing you all.
The October Winos had a lovely meal with beat root soup, Spaghetti Bolognese and cardamom ice cream.
Not sure what the wines were (cleaner has been very good this week) but we had
White wine with the starter
Chianti with the Spaghetti
Asti with the ice cream
October dinner party no3 went off without too many noticable hitches.
we managed to drink 7 bottles of wine, a litre of cider, and some whisky, and MrsR had to fill in several blanks for me the next morning.
Starter was sweetcorn cakes, on lettuce, with apple celery salsa.
Then we had a pallette cleanser of orange and Basil sorbet
Main was Fish Pie, with several seasonal vegetables.
Dessert was two sorts of (very different) ice cream - citrus, and lemon.
I still have the wine bottles if anyone wants to know what they were - 2 were Pinot grigio, 2 were cava, one Madeira, and others.
When MrsR started clearing the glasses out of the way of my flayling arms, that was the sign to call it a night at about half one.
as the stand in for the night, I thoroughly enjoyed it. a very impressive range of pink fizz, white fizz, and a flavoursome pinot grigio that went brilliantly with JonR's fish pie. Also, I've now had my first taste of madeira.... I don't think it will be my last!
