I've just moved into the SE1 area and would welcome any recommendations for local pubs/bars/clubs, restaurants, or generally any good places to hang out close to Bermondsey Street. If you'd like to join me and my flatmates for a drink and show us around, even better.

Many Thanks

Welcome to SE1! You are not exactly short of places to eat/drink on Bermondsey Street. The Woolpack is a good meeting place, especially the beer garden at the back, as is Village East. Simon the Tanner pub on Long Lane is another SE1 favorite watering hole.

For dining, lots of SE1'ers have tried Zucca & liked it (including myself), but you also have The Garrison.

At the bottom of Bermondsey Street, you have Bermondsey Square which is a great place to hang out, especially on Saturdays, when the farmers market rolls into town.

The Woolpack keeps coming up as a good local -aI must check it out. Thanks for the info, a few pointers always helps.

try The Marigold too (Bermondsey St, south of Long Lane) - compare and contrast.
