Ooh, my home town, what're up to in Stocky Mr R? Largest brick built structure in Europe don't you know, etc. etc.

Did we ever sort out a venue for this?

Yes. And whether it's the 14th or 15th?

(I liked Birdie's idea of the George. But anywhere is OK by me)

...if you press it, they will come.

The George on TBR?

Ooh, I'd assumed Birdie meant the George off Borough High Street, but maybe she did mean the one on TBR..... ?

As usual Lady, you are right - I did mean Borough High Street but I'm not all that fussed - the company will make the evening enojyable wherever we end up

i've never been to The George on BHS - so i think it should be there (plus we're less likely to get beaten up with a pool cue - as nearly happened last time i was in The George on TBR!).

The BHS George please, it's on the 133! Which bar?

Apparently the George on TBR used to be Tommy Steele's local some 40 years ago. Now that the Bermondsey "antique" warehouses have mostly been redeveloped, there are presumably fewer "Lovejoy" lookalikes in there than when I last dropped in (1996?) after half a day failing to find any furniture I liked in any of them with an asking price of less than 1,000.
