How is it looking for apples Ivanhoe?
any luck yet?

I have few lbs of Katy's that I'm going to try and make some single variety, bottle fermented, if you'd like to come round and offer help, or (useful) comment (like when you made your cider shed!).

only a few weeks left folks - if you're interested in getting involved you should be thinking about buying equipment, and maybe the book advertised below (Real cider making on a small scale...), or contact Richard Burns at the home brew shop in Cheam, for lots of expert advise and essential equipment.

if it's going to work, and be fun, we need lots of people to turn up, so please do come along to Surrey Docks City Farm, on Sunday 26th to help out- or alternatively come along the week earlier on Saturday 18th, for the Farm Apple Day, to learn more about the many joys of the apple.

Can you give us directions to the City Farm, please?

From Surrey Quays, take Redriff Rd, till it turns into Salter Rd, then turn right onto Rotherhithe St, then left onto Rotherithe St, then it's on the right hand side at the first corner.

Not being overwhelmed with offers of apples so far. Let's see what the weekend brings (I've had one phone call, but no use. At least I know that my Hfds contact has spread our number around a bit to likely people).

And then we can PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but given that the previous weekend is Apple Day at the farm, plus Borough Market is having an Apple Day, can't you get apples from one of those sources?
Sunday 12 October 2008 6.41pm
I doubt that they'll have half a ton just hanging about! ;-)

Is it that the apples aren't ready yet Ivanhoe? Should we postpone by a week or two (and could we if we wanted to re the farm etc)?

No, not just hanging about, but vendors will be bringing apples to these events, no? Maybe they could bring more.
