Has anyone had their property value for Council Tax yet?
We got ours yesterday, putting us in band E. I was a bit surprised to be honest - was expecting band D which is a bit cheaper. Not sure there is anything that can be done to change it, just wondered what everyone else thought!
I think Band E is high as well. You can compare all the other buildings in the area and determine in which band they are. The old town hall apartments, which value is twice higher, are band E as well. The council flats in Neckinger road are in Band D. I think Band E is on the high side and I will check how I can actually prove that.
I will let you know how it goes.
Has anyone actually managed to get a warm flat? My heating has been on since this morning and I can't tell any difference. I have been told it can take up to 2 days to start to feel the difference...that kind of worries me
Yes PeterOB ours stopped working about 1630 today in Ockham Building, also having some draining issues in one of the bathrooms - planning on ringing the emergency number shortly... let me know if you have any luck!
My hot water is back on - presume everyone else's is too.
Just thought I'd say I've found and removed most of my flow restrictors. They're little pink plastic disks right in the end of the pipes/taps - so not hard to get to. They block >50% of the pipe diameter.
It makes such a difference to the showers and the kitchen tap. Happy to explain or lend the right size spanners if people need...
I now have flow through some of my underfloor zones but not others. I didn't get any feedback either but emailed NHHG who sent over the United House site manager.
He seems to know his stuff (told me it was part working), had a fiddle but couldn't fix it, so there is someone else coming soon. I think my thermostats have been wired up incorrectly - they all click at a point where it seems they 'think' it is sub 10 degrees...
A lot of the problem lies in the fact that the different parts of the system (pipes, billing, thermostats) were installed by different sub-contractors, so one engineer can't guarantee the repair of the whole thing.
