Would be grateful for advice on the following please.
The block I lived in had a managing agent. For various reasons their contract was terminated, and now the block is being run by myself (Secretary) and some other flat owners.
Myself and the other flat owners received the usual service charge demand 2 months ago from the old Managing Agents. Now we are running the block ourselves my question is do I send out an amended service charge demand to cover the remaining 10 months of the service charge demand, or do I send out a new one covering the next 12 months.
The lease will have certain stipulations probably saying the block must be run by a "managing agent" but you are acting as a de facto one so it shouldn't be a problem. As for the service charge this again will be detailed in lease but my guess is that you should stick to the annual terms already established and therfore go for a 10 month period for now to get you back into the correct cycle.
