Post Office to open in Bartholomew Street

A convenience store in Bartholomew Street is to offer Post Office services seven days a week in a move that bosses say will replace a local branch that closed its doors nearly five years ago.

Post Office to open in Bartholomew Street

"We are delighted to let you know that following the temporary closure of Great Dover Street Post Office we will be re-opening the branch on Wednesday 23 November 2022 at 1pm," wrote network provision lead Samantha Coe in a letter to local representatives.

"This will be in a new location – Bagh Convenient Store, 23 Bartholomew Street, London, SE1 4AL, and operate as one of our local style branches."

The Great Dover Street Post Office closed its doors in 2017 and a year and half later Post Office Ltd said it had given up trying to find a replacement operator.

Post Office services will be available at Bagh Convenient Store from 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and between 9am and 10pm on Sundays.

Feedback on the proposed new branch can be submitted online till 10 November.

Bagh Convenient Store is next door to the Spit & Sawdust pub in Bartholomew Street.
