To celebrate St George's Day, chef Andy Bates will be providing the public with samples of the traditional English pudding Spotted Dick.
"Spotted Dick is clearly in a spot of bother," says Nick Thorogood, managing director of Food Network EMEA which commissioned a poll to test the nation's knowledge of its traditional cuisine.
"The research shows that more than half the population recognise that we should make more of an effort to cook these traditional English dishes more often, and that they are at risk of becoming extinct.
"We wanted to celebrate St George's Day by giving people a chance to actually try Spotted Dick and save it for the nation."
And for those who can't make it, Andy will be demonstrating how to make the perfect Spotted Dick on the Food Network UK channel Sky 262/263 (Freesat 405/406) throughout the day on St George's Day.
