By Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton (1611)

The virtuous Mary Fitzallard is in love with Sebastian Wengrave, whose father opposes their marriage. But what will happen when Sebastian tries to manipulate his father by pretending to be in love with another Mary, the notorious Mary Frith, otherwise known as Moll Cutpurse? 'Tragic passion', the prologue rightly proclaims, 'And such grave stuff, is this day out of fashion'.
