How did Italian style coffee become an international success? What does this tell us about the culture and times in which we live?

Professor Jonathan Morris from the University of Hertfordshire is exploring the reasons for the increase in popularity of Italian coffee throughout the twentieth century from the origins of espresso to the global popularity of cappuccino and caffe latte today.

The exhibition will include materials illustrating the history of coffee ‘Made in Italy’ and will feature 12 historic coffee machines from the Enrico Maltoni collection.
