The Rose , Bankside has invited directors, actors and writers to celebrate the work of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.

With Elizabethan plays, sonnets and modern international work. The ever present influence of Bankside as London's creative centre will be celebrated during Shakespeare's Birthday activities at the Rose in April.

Denmark: A man contemplates suicide! His emotional journey is traced via Shakespeare's sonnets and passages from Hamlet including a famous speech in an unusual tongue.
