Ian Waller is a professional genealogist and archive researcher, a member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives. He teaches family history at both basic and advanced levels. He is the author of My Ancestor was an Agricultural Labourer (Society of Genealogists, 2010).
This talk looks at the wealth of records either side of the 1834 Poor Law Act in which most of our ancestors will appear. These records can provide a huge amount of information about their plight and may remove a few stumbling blocks along the way.
