A Fool's Proof

A child, reportedly female: age unknown, name unknown. From the farmlands of Lower Glassock, rumour quickly spreads that a girl is trapped in a well shaft. Her faint voice can be heard from down below. Above ground, three journalists chase the story every step of the way, framing it for media consumption and spinning it wildly, erratically and erroneously away from the truth.

A Fool's Proof is a search for the truth in a world hungry for scandal, where a young child's desperate fate is satirically moulded into a story that sells. Inspired by true events, this new play questions the power of today's media and challenges our insatiable appetite for sensationalism.
