Family Graffiti Tour

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Do you know where to find Southwark Cathedral's medieval graffiti? These important artefacts are often hiding in plain sight, and can give us clues about a building's history.

On this family friendly tour you will find monsters, names, and more!

Come along and learn how to look for medieval graffiti and see what it has to tell us about Southwark Cathedral's past.

Join us on a 1 hour explore of the graffiti examples right here in Southwark Cathedral led by graffiti researcher Crystal Hollis.

We recommend you bring a small torch or ensure your mobile phone has a flashlight installed.

Crystal Hollis has been studying medieval graffiti for five years. Her enthusiasm about old buildings, community education, and history have led her to contribute to various web sites on the subject of graffiti as well as speak to a wide range of audiences. Her most notable work focused on the discovery of medieval inscriptions in a transplanted French chapel currently located in Milwaukee, WI USA.
