The Very Revd Andrew Nunn, Dean of Southwark and Amir Eden, Executive Chairman of Living Bankside invite local residents and employees to attend Living Bankside's Annual Celebration.

Living Bankside exists to ensure that Bankside, Borough and its surrounding areas are not only a beautiful, exciting, vibrant place but is as well-designed and well-built as it possibly can be - a place where people are happy and eager to live, work, learn and play. Living Bankside is managed by local residents and serves people of all age groups, ethnicities, genders, faiths, including those of no particular faith and the LGBT community.

Living Bankside's primary aim is to improve health & well-being and its work includes improving physical and mental health, promoting the history and heritage of Bankside, promoting community cohesion, enabling residents to shape the regeneration of the area, positive ageing, youth work and reducing air pollution.

This year's Annual Celebration will mark 24 years since the organisation was founded and aims to bring all communities together to recognise the significant contribution Living Bankside and many local residents have made to Bankside, Borough and the surrounding areas

The event will also include a tribute to a number of people who have made significant contributions to the neighbourhood. Included in the tributes will be Marion Marples (Vice Chair of Living Bankside) and Zakia Tafader (Amir Eden's mother), two important and influential women who we sadly lost a few months ago. Both of these 'Women of Bankside' dedicated their lives to serving the people of Bankside, Borough and the surrounding areas.
