Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration

Ceremony organised by the Soviet War Memorial Trust and the Mayor of Southwark's office.

HMD marks the date of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camps by the Soviet Red Army on 27 January 1945. This year marks the 75th anniversary of that liberation.

The commemoration begins with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Holocaust Memorial Tree and Soviet War Memorial which stand together in Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park.
