Roving Mars

A stunning new large format film from Walt Disney Pictures.

Now the impossible has become a reality. Roving Mars documents a remarkable NASA mission, which sent two intrepid, death-defying explorers - Spirit and Opportunity, the Mars Exploration Mission Rovers - to the Red Planet.

Viewers see the tense months leading to countdown as the rovers are built, meticulously tested and launched into space; then the nail-biting hours when NASA held its collective breath, waiting to learn two crucial things, if the machines had hit their targets and if both were still operational.

Through the eyes of these robots, and ultra-realistic computer animation, viewers see Mars in a way that no one ever has. The phenomenal size and clarity of the BFI IMAX screen - 20 metres high and more than 26 metres wide - draws them into an awe-inspiring landscape that has never seen the footprint of an earthling - until now.
