The world premiere of the brand new musical Take Flight by award winning composers Maltby and Shire, with book by John Weidman opens at the Chocolate Factory for a strictly limited season.

The multi Olivier award winning production team from Sunday In the Park With George reunite for this exclusive world premiere, which tells the inspirational stories of the pioneers of flight - The Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. The prestigious American writers Richard Maltby and David Shire have written many shows together including Closer than Ever, Starting Here, Starting Now and Baby. Individually David Shire is an Oscar winning film score composer (All The Presidents Men, Norma Rae and most recently Zodiac). Richard Maltby wrote the lyrics for Miss Saigon and he devised and directed Ain't Misbehavin (Tony - Best Director) and Fosse. John Weidman is a long time Sondheim collaborator, he wrote the book for Assassins, Pacific Overtures and Bounce.
