Pure Gold?

This powerful new exhibition addresses the destruction and injustice brought about through gold mining, telling a story across three continents.

Worlds away from the glamour and wealth which it symbolises, this 'dirty' industry is having devastating effects on the developing countries which house the majority of the gold mining, along with some of the world's poorest people. The mining is reportedly polluting water supplies and displacing locals, having a detrimental effect on these countries health and social wellbeing.

CAFOD, a Catholic aid agency, is working to turn gold from a curse into a blessing for the countries where it is mined.
