The latest club night by Southbank Centre's Emerging Artists in Residence (EAR)
The eclectic hub for free new music and performance presented by Southbank Centre's multi-talented group of Emerging Artists in Residence (EAR) returns for the third time. The line-up on 11 April includes, hot from a US tour, Riz MC presenting his forthcoming EP as a live set. There are also full band performances from Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and Natascha Eleonor, debuting a new live band line-up featuring fellow EAR Renell Shaw. Other artists on the bill, spanning jazz, hip-hop, experimental and way beyond, include Ping Lee, Braydz, Nila Raja and Max Hallett.
Threading across the night, April's EAR Present throws a spotlight on some of the most exciting spoken word talent around, with guest artists Dockers MC and Polar Bear Poet, alongside EAR Yemisi Blake.
Building on the success of the last event in January which attracted over 1,000 people, this third club night promises to be the most thrilling one yet.
For further information on EAR please visit the innovative new website EAR Present, a forum for the artists and their audiences to connect through blogs, downloads and monthly videos which record the artists' experiences as Emerging Artists at Southbank Centre. www.southbankcentre.co.uk/ear.
The multi-talented group of Emerging Artists in Residence (EAR) came out of the Aftershock London project directed by Nitin Sawhney in 2007, and EAR Present was launched in November 2007. Southbank Centre provides EAR with a platform for developing and presenting exciting new work throughout the year, offers project and rehearsal opportunities, and integrates artists more broadly into the artistic programme, resulting in collaborations with other performers and Artists in Residence.
