The Odyssey of the Potato

This exhibition celebrates the International Year of the Potato, designated by the United Nations as 2008, and shows where the potato was first domesticated, its importance in pre-Columbian cultures, the Spanish discovery of the potato and its introduction into Europe.

The exhibition continues with the dissemination of the potato within Europe and to other parts of the world, and its legacy today.

The exhibition has been developed by the International Potato Center, Lima, Peru, with the support of the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs of the Government of Peru.
