When the First World War ended in 1918 the world had changed dramatically. Those who fought became known as 'The Lost Generation' having never fully recovered from their experiences.
This new production of Romeo & Juliet, whilst using Shakespeare's original text, is set against the backdrop of a post war industrial city. The disaffected youth having suffered and experienced the worst of humanity, try to find solace in whatever way they can, whether that be violence, drugs or love.
