The Carlton Players, a Civil Service-based amateur dramatics group, presents the dark comedy by Charlotte Jones.

This production of The Lightning Play features innovative use of multi-media techniques, featuring soundscapes, projections and an interplay of light and shade to dramatic effect.

"This is an opportunity for the local community to have a night out at the theatre without breaking the bank – we are akin to a poor man's version of the Old Vic's tunnels project," said director and Southwark resident Kirsty Terris.

"It is important to remember we have all given up a lot of our spare time to create this show – but it's a great escape from the daily grind!" said Kirsty.
