Lambeth residents can pick up tips on recycling and how to reduce the amount they throw away.

Recycling officers from Lambeth Council will be on hand at the stall where residents can find out more about waste minimisation, recycling and reuse services in Lambeth and pick up give-aways.

Recycle Week is a nationwide annual campaign with the theme for 2009 being 'Let's Waste Less'. People are being asked to make a pledge to do more of what they already do (i.e. recycle while out and about rather than just at home, squash and recycle all cartons) or start a new behaviour (i.e. reuse carrier bags, home compost, go waste free for day etc). It is a much broader theme than just recycling and people are being encouraged to think about minimisation and reuse.

Those who make pledges will be in with a chance of winning a laptop bag made from recycled rubber inner tubes worth £45.
