Southwark Information Centre opens

Southwark Information Centre has, after much delay, now opened on the end of London Bridge.

This is London's most modern tourist information centre but unlike many others it is intended as an information point for residents and workers as well as visitors.

A time line cabinet will house historical items from the Cuming Museum illustrating local waterside history from the Romans through medieval and Victorian industrial times to the riverside rebirth of the present day. Books and gifts will also be on sale.
