75% of tourists in London come to SE1
Three quarters of visitors to the capital from overseas come to the South Bank and Bankside, according to the latest research by Visit London.
Tate Modern enjoys high levels of awareness – the modern art gallery on Bankside was the second most recognised of a list of attractions in London after the Tower of London.
92% of visitors spoken to during the summer said that they felt very or fairly safe in London, which compares favourably to the 79% visitor response to the same question in summer 2002. Almost 90% of visitors felt safer, or as safe, in London as they did in Rome or in Paris.
