Body found in Pool of London

Police are appealing for information after the body of a man was recovered from the Thames.

The emergency services were called to the riverside near HMS Belfast on Monday 13 December at about 2.35pm. Officers from the Marine Support Unit recovered the body of a white male, approx 5"11 in height, slim build, with short hair.

He was wearing a blue short sleeved shirt with a logo on the left of a dragon, blue cargo style trousers, dark socks and one black Reebok classic trainer size 8.

The man had a tattoo of his upper right arm of a crouching panther.

A post mortem will take place at Greenwich Mortuary on Wednesday 15 December.

PC Tony Cassidy, at the river police station at Wapping, says; "We are keen to trace who this man was, and inform his family and friends of his death. He had a distinct tattoo on his right arm, and we are urging anyone who might recognize his description to get in touch with us either here on 0207 275 4421 or, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
