Rehab for Guy’s Hospital computer thief

London SE1 website team

A 23-year-old from Borough who stole PCs from Tate Modern and Guy's Hospital will go to drug rehab instead of jail, despite committing his crimes while on a similar course.

In November 2004 – two months after being given a drug treatment and testing order for another burglary – Minto Khan took three computers from Guy's Hospital.

In December, Khan – a crack cocaine addict – broke into Tate Modern where he stole a computer and a mobile phone.

The judge, Mr Recorder Charles Bear QC, told Inner London Crown Court in Newington Causeway that he would give the father of three with eight previous convictions "another chance". He adjourned the case to see whether a residential rehab place could be found.
