Borough Market stalls opening on Thursdays
At least ten Borough Market traders are now opening on Thursdays in addition to Fridays and Saturdays.
This move coincides with market traders now occupying the new pitches under the Floral Hall. Those on a new site include Ginger Pig, Sillfield Farm and Farmer Sharpe who are all to open three days a week.
Others opening on Thursdays are Utobeer, Borough Wines, Le Marché du Quartier, Gastronomica, Elsey & Bent, Appelby Fish, Wyndham House Poultry and Turnips.
One reason for opening is to meet the growing demand of people living and working in SE1 to be able buy quality food on days other than Friday and Saturday. Many residents already choose to shop on Fridays to avoid the crowds of visitors on Saturdays.
