Doorman shot at the Ministry of Sound

The Flying Squad is investigating a shooting outside the Ministry of Sound club at the Elephant and Castle in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At approximately 5am police were called to Gaunt Street to reports of shots fired.

On arrival officers found one of the doormen – a man in his thirties – with gun shot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The suspect is a black male, wearing a hooded top, who was on foot. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Police are keeping an open mind about a possible motive.
