Would-be Tory mayor plans to ditch City Hall

Former model and contender for the Conservative candidacy in the 2004 London mayoral elections has said that if elected she would move the Greater London Authority out of its new riverside City Hall home next to Tower Bridge.

She told The Guardian in an interview this week: "It costs us £4.5 million and it's on a lease- back deal with the government. It's a waste of money on a prime piece of real estate. The offices of the mayor should be in the suburbs, and the council meetings rotated around borough town halls so GLA members get to know the problems of each area intimately."

Her other policies include ski lifts across the Thames to ease pedestrian congestion.
