Man charged after David Blaine cage attack

The Metropolitan Police said they received a report early on Tuesday morning about a man who had climbed on to the scaffolding tower near the magician's box.

"The man threw water bottles and other objects from the tower and tried to cut through water and cable lines connected to the tower, but without success," a police statement said.

38 year old Stephen Charles Field, a contract cleaner from Godalming in Surrey has been charged with criminal damage and threatening behaviour in Southwark.
 
He was released on bail to appear at Tower Bridge Magistrates Court – just yards from the scene of the incident – on 30 September at 10am.
