Pedestrian killed in bus and taxi collision on Westminster Bridge

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a male pedestrian was killed in a collision on Westminster Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police were called at about 1.25am on Saturday to a collision between two vehicles – a Route 159 bus and a taxi – and a pedestrian on Westminster Bridge.

The air ambulance was also called to the scene.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's relatives have not yet been informed of his death and he has not been formally identified.

The drivers of both vehicles stopped at the scene and no-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to call the South West Road Death Investigation Unit on 020 8941 9011.
