The Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls group put on a display at More London Riverside under the banner of the Omnium campaign's 'Catalans Want to Vote – Human Towers for Democracy' initiative.

The Catalan government wants to hold a referendum on independence from Spain on 9 November but the Madrid government wants to block the poll.

Omnium raised 120,000 euros in a crowdfunding campaign to help meet the costs of the tower groups' travel and accommodation.

The Catalan custom of building human towers – castells – was last seen in SE1 as part of the 2013 St George's Day celebrations.
