The Nightingale Fellowship, the alumni association for what is now the Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery at St Thomas' Hospital, says that historic items exhibited in the hospital's grand committee room disappeared from a display case last week.

"These items are of significant importance to the Nightingale Fellowship, the history of the hospital and for the nursing profession," said Elizabeth Wiacek, a member of the fellowship's council.

"For a person who doesn't know the significance of the part Florence Nightingale and St Thomas' played in nursing today, the items would be worthless, however they are very precious to the fellowship and we would very much like them returned."

If anyone has any information, they should contact the police on 101 or contact the Nightingale Fellowship office on 01285 841908 or [email protected]
